The Person Behind the Flavors:

Hi, I’m Tulsi

Mom to two spirited girls, working full time, and learning every day how to balance life, schedules, and meals in a home that never stops moving. My world is a mix of work calls, kids chatter, kitchen experiments, and the everyday chaos that I wouldn't change for the world.

I’ve always believed that cooking doesn’t have to be complicated, and that feeding a family shouldn’t feel like running a mini restaurant. I don’t make separate dinners for my kids because I’m a firm believer in one simple truth: one family, one meal, one cook. Breakfasts are on rotation, lunches are kid friendly, and dinner is family style 80% of the week because no one is perfect. Children truly can learn to eat what we eat when they’re not overwhelmed with choices or catered to at every turn. If kids don't eat it the first time they will the third of fourth time they are offered the item and eventually will grow to love it. I follow the approach that kids aren’t naturally picky — we just have to give them the chance to enjoy what we enjoy.

My Story

I grew up eating comforting, flavorful Indian food, and it’s important to me that my girls grow up with those same tastes and traditions. Indian cooking looks intimidating from the outside but it’s surprisingly effortless once you understand a few spices and a handful of go-to techniques. Anyone can make it, even on a busy weeknight.

My husband and I spent the early years of our marriage eating dinner at the coffee table in front of the TV. After our oldest daughter arrived, everything shifted. Sitting at the table became the easiest way to help her try new flavors and join in on dinnertime without any battles. Now we eat dinner together almost every night, sharing the same food, the same moments, and the same joy. It’s simpler, it’s calmer, and honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts of our day.

How We Live

A huge part of who I am, and what I share, comes from my belief that life doesn’t end when you have kids. You raise your kids to fit into your life, not the other way around. In our home, it’s the 80–20 rule.
Eighty percent of the time we have structure, routines, early bedtimes, and a rhythm that keeps us steady. The other twenty percent is for the fun stuff — late nights on weekends, spontaneous adventures, travel that might push bedtimes past reason but fills our hearts with memories. It’s the balance that lets me be a mom without losing myself.
